The 60-acre property, located on Old Ocean City Boulevard, has been vacant since 2004. Town officials hope to purchase the land from Berlin Properties North and turn it into some sort of public park.

For $2.75 million they should have a better plan than "some sort of park"!!!
more taxes after buying it, and more taxes to maintain it, , , maybe towns (County, State or Federal Govts) should NOT be in the business of owning land, and let citizens own it. what a earth shattering idea
Berlin will just be buying someones problem that they couldn't do anything with.
And taxpayers get ready for the 5 million for the environmental issues that pop up.
more crooked politics owned by troy purnell and he will financially benefit from the sale doesn't matter if they didn't negotiate with him or not taxes will go up. They continue to say that there is no more money for a new police station or to properly fund the emt and fire company but they can find money for this and all the take home cars that drive to delmar and SALISBURY and want to annex and make town bigger but cant take care of what we have now. Just more taxes for all of us
We need a new group that can manage the town better. They were just waiting for ms lynch to retire because she would ask questions about the items they didn't want to answer
Pretty large property to be removing it from the tax rolls. At least somebody is paying R/E tax now even if it is an eyesore.

Every single park in Worcester county and Berlin are barely used. They act like Berlin has no open space. I could see if Berlin was all cement and asphalt like an inner city but it's not. Everyone who lives in Berlin has access to a yard of some sort.
How about concentrating on bringing some good paying jobs to the area instead of trying to relieve someone of a lemon they purchased by their own free will. Now wouldn't that be a novel idea!
