Somerset County District Court Visited by Maryland’s Chief Judge

(PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – ) Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera came to Princess Anne on Tuesday, Sept. 16, to visit the District Court for Somerset County. Judge Paula A. Price greeted Chief Judge Barbera when she arrived yesterday afternoon to tour the location and meet with employees.

“It is impressive that Chief Judge Barbera has visited each court facility in the state, and I was honored to meet with her and welcome her to our part of the world,” Judge Price said. “We have a wonderful group of professionals here who serve our community. Chief Judge Barbera’s visit affirms that she understands that each of us is vitally important to the overall mission of the Judiciary. I was pleased to be able to introduce her to the people whose dedication and efforts make it possible for me to focus my efforts on the cases that come before me and the administration of justice.”

County Clerk Connie Tyler said, “We all got to meet Chief Judge Barbera personally, which was a delightful surprise. She asked thoughtful questions and was truly interested in how we, as a small office, work together as a team to provide the full range of services that we do. It was a very exciting day. I do not know the last time we were visited by the state’s chief judge.”

After her tour of the Princess Anne location, Chief Judge Barbera said, “Today, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with Judge Price as a colleague on the bench, and to thank her and the talented staff here at the Somerset County District Court for their hard work and dedication.”

Chief Judge Barbera was appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley in July 2013 to lead the Maryland Judiciary. Since then, Chief Judge Barbera has made it a priority to visit and learn about each of the State’s Circuit and District Courts.

The way I read this - the Chief Justice visited judges and employees of the Somerset Court System. Nice idea as not often do you hear of Annapolis caring who works in the counties

Nothing to do with Crisfield or liberals or asses. Maybe you folks should clobber the BOE for the inability to comprehend what you read or perhaps you cannot read.

Joe has done Somerset an injustice by publishing your pathetic comments.
