Easton PD Press Release 8-6-14

Easton Police Department
CHECKPOINT STRIKE FORCE CAMPAIGN

The Easton Police Department will join other police agencies in our region by participating in the Checkpoint Strike Force campaign. The campaign runs from August 15th through September 1st. So what is Checkpoint Strike Force? Checkpoint Strike Force can be described as an intensive law enforcement mobilization intended to get impaired drivers off our roads. The effort is about more than just arresting violators. The Police will always be out looking for drunk drivers but the effectiveness of Checkpoint Strike Force also relies heavily on awareness and education. Drunk drivers need to be aware that they are going to get caught so don’t try it. It is even more important to keep an impaired driver from getting on the road than it is to take him off. As citizens of our community we ask for your support with this campaign. Spread the message that driving after drinking is not acceptable. Safer Maryland roads is a goal we can achieve.

All for it.

More illegal activity from Leo's. Once again probable cause is needed to stop an American citizen. There is no cause here. Wanna catch drunks? Do your jobs and patrol the roads!

Great idea - to bad the COURT will slap them on the wrist and let them loose again! Look at the ones who have had 5 or more DUI's!

will they get the law breaking speeding kops off the road too?

....replace the word(s) drunk driver/impaired driver with illegal alien and cops would be doing something more meaningful for the American people...

The government's job is NOT crime prevention.

It's job is to respond AFTER the crime is committed.

Was any person harmed?
Was any property damaged?

These are the criteria for COMMON LAW.

End statutory law enforcement. it is unconstitutional.
