***UPDATE*** Delaware River Aircraft Incident

 
New Castle-2 Occupants have been removed from the water by Delaware State Police Aviation Helicopter Trooper 4. They have been transported to shore for medical evaluation and their injuries do not appear to be life threatening at this time.
 
It has been determined that the incident occurred within the state of New Jersey boundaries. The Pennsville Police Department will be the point of contact for further information.

Delaware River Aircraft Incident
 
New Castle-Troopers are responding to a small single engine aircraft down in the Delaware River reported in the area between Fort Delaware State Park and Fort Mott State Park.
 
At approximately 10:46 a.m. the NCC Air Traffic Control Tower located at the New Castle County Airport reported that they had lost contact with a small single engine aircraft.
 
The aircraft was located in the Delaware River in the area between Fort Delaware State Park and Fort Mott State Park, NJ with the occupants observed near the aircraft in the water.
 
Currently Delaware State Police Helicopter Trooper 4 is operating at the scene attempting to hoist the occupants from the water.
 
This investigation is in its early stages and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
