I spoke to a friend who owns several Burger Kings and he was telling me of the wage goes up to where they want it. We will be paying 6 dollars or more just for a burger from fast food places and prices for meals will be crazy. So PREPARE yourselves for higher prices in these low wage places of employment. And He also stated that he would as other places would lay off people and work with less staff to deal with higher wages. So in effect higher wages in low wage type jobs will only mean loss of jobs for many.

As a resident of Ocean City...The raise of the minimum wage would have a devastating effect on the "low competition" in the area. Yes it would help the income of situation as 90% of the jobs in the area are minimum wage. However employers would inevitably hire fewer workers demanding more out of the employees they have, when most are over worked as it is.

9:25, 9:34 yea more of the same old propaganda myths thank you for spreading them.

Funny how after the 2009 hike McDonalds still has a dollar menu.

And that "make them work more" mentality will only go so far and "I will hire less" theory will only hurt your business more than a lousy $1 wage hike.

Slave wages, slave labor, slave employer mentality.

72% of the public support a raise in the minimum wage. I guess Annie is in the majority.

2:44-Start using your head! An increase isn't going to hurt large businesses with large profits, but it will hurt those who only employ a handful of people. Unless you have the IQ of a moron it's not rocket science. Your "across the board", mentality along with your lack of forward thinking skills (no doubt the results of the very inferior public school "education" system) has ruined this country!

There used to be a thing called profit sharing, however when employers know a lot of people are out of work and will work for less they don't want to share profits. If someone is an under performer, this is a state where employers can cut the cord, why punish good performers? A lot of local business are mini corporations themselves.
