I just bought myself a scanner for Christmas and listening. The Salisbury fire trucks have been dispatched 4 times in the last hour. They're o the scene of a house with smoke inside right now.

One in four, 334. Somebody burnt the bacon again.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have a fire department or they should not respond to fires.

Just saying, look at the freaking list every day, day after freaking day, and tell me a fire truck and full crew has to go to the 98% "trouble breathings" at a house somewhere.

And also tell me why I have to explain such an obviously simple concept to an idiot like you?

Fire trucks are dispatched to medical calls by the dispatch center as a part of a system known as EMD. Emergency medical dispatch. a series of questions established by national experts designed to send appropriate resources to a call for help. Fire units are often nearby or on the street and respond on level D and E codes to provide a quick response. This is sometimes done due to no ambulance available to immediately respond due to call volume. If your the person who is having difficulty breathing I would like to believe you would want the quickest possible unit to respond. It is easy for the untrained citizen to question and criticize. It takes on a different meaning when your the person calling for help. The firefighters and Paramedics are the experts in their field. Give them the credit and respect that they deserve. You might want to reconsider your assumption of an idiot. You never know whom you may be debating with.
