OCEAN CITY – The voice behind the Ocean City Taxpayers for Social Justice has taken on a familiar battle in Ocean City, threatening legal action against the Mayor and City Council if action is not taken to clean up the town’s registered voter roll.
On Monday, Tony Christ, spokesperson for Ocean City Taxpayers for Social Justice (OCTSJ), submitted a letter to Ocean City Council President Lloyd Martin and the Worcester County Board of Elections announcing the group has been in touch with the board over what it believes to be peculiarities in the Voter Registration Roll for the Town of Ocean City.
“Our allegations stem from our recent involvement with the parking referendum. In that regard the County Board of Elections has emailed us a form to be used in challenging individual voters on a one-by-one basis. We will shortly begin these challenges,” Christ submitted. “However, we firmly believe it is the duty of the Town of Ocean City as well as the County Election Board to periodically check the Ocean City Voter Registration Roll and ensure that it is compliant with relevant federal, state and local law.”

Get a petition going to change it so any property owner can vote as , resident or not. This is not uncommon in other areas and there are no good reasons to oppose this.
So citizens of PA NJ NY can run my town? No thank you.
If they are tax payers don't they have the right? You don't think they have the right to have a say in how their money is being spent 6:00?
Can't be any worse off than what you got now in OC 6:00. There is absolutely no reason why OC should be in debt when not so long ago real estate prices were sky high resulting in what had to be a huge windfall of property tax revenue.
You all got some real incompetence going on there and it's amazing the voters are so blind to it. I thought OC people had better sense.
I do agree that taxpayers have a right to vote where they pay taxes, but only on a local level.
Right now, our ignorant election laws do not provide for this, as once a "registered voter" one can vote for president there. So, with multiple voting rights, a landlord could vote in several polling places for President, for example.
I'm a firm believer that there are many existing cases of voter fraud, and our antiquated system of voter registration is totally broken and in need of overhaul.
I have warned people time-and-time again to stay out of OC. This group - OCTSJ - the group members have experienced first hand the run-a-way spending of a municipality 'Gone Wild'. Even Trimper has threatened to close the amusement park because his tax liability is over 1 million dollars. Yet the salaries of the municipal officials are commonly into six digits - and there is virtually no work load for 6 months during the winter.
My advice to property owners is - FLEE, FLEE, FLEE. OC is a bottomless pit that will break even the wealthy.
6:00-What is clear is that you all (voters) are in some serious need of guidance. Low information voter comes to mind.
There is no excuse as to why OC isn't flush with money.
From everything I've read you all voted in the group that was responsible for spending it like drunken sailors. That was brilliant-LOL!
