I haven't seen anything on your site this morning about the Million Vet March in D.C. There are certainly plenty of them there and I have been watching them from a live stream. They cut down the barriers that were around the monuments and then they carried them to the White House as they said that is where they belonged, the barriers that is. I don't know how many veterans are there but there sure looks like a lot of them.
They have a facebook page called Million Vet March on the Memorials and then on that page they have a live stream called mlr 13 if you are interested.

Only about 200 attended.
Why cover a non event? Did even 1000 people show up! What was accomplished? Nothing.... Just like the truckers who didn't show. It's not news when nothing happens. Things happen when people wake up and do some research before they vote. Protests that fizzle before they even start do nothing.

11:44 Sorry I was there. Way more than 200. Many people left when it turned into a tea party rally. There were rally's across the country. I think that's how they were trying to get 1,000,000 people involved.
I saw it yesterday on the live feeds they had on the facebook page. They definitely had more than 200 people there. I think there was a different reason the news didn't cover the event. Then when they finally did mention it late in the day, they made it out to be a tea party rally. It was not a tea party rally. It was a march by veterans because of the decision that was made to shut down the memorials. Those veterans fought and died for the right to go to those memorials whenever they damn well want to go there, and no, I'm not a veteran but even I know that much. How many times have I been there, you ask. Many, and I am always humbled by the fact that those men and women were willing to die for "our" freedoms. Yes, yours and mine. And someday soon, when China comes over here to collect on that freaking bill they we owe them, they may protect your ass again. But you go ahead and think it was just bullsh*t as usual.
For your information I am a veteran and proud of that fact! But at the end of the day the memorials sit on government property and although I don't agree rules and the laws are what they are. Like them or not they need to be respected. There are much better ways to make a point by paying attention to what's going on and voting for the people we see can do the job..... Votes do far more than protests.
anonymous 8:20, IF you are a veteran, (with all due respect) then what are you so afraid of, not mentioning your NAME? I personally think your a liberal full of crap. Is your name Chuck, by chance?
What exactly is "government property." When did the government become an entity that owned property. What did they produce to make the money that "bought" that property. Or did they "sell" a product that gave them a revenue that enabled them to buy that property. OR, did they take taxpayer money and buy that property or just decide by eminent domain that it was now "theirs."
I'm having trouble with this concept. I thought government was, "Of the people, by the people, and for the people." Which means it is ours, correct?
But yes, I voted also. You can bet it was not for the current administration, during the original four years or the subsequent four. That didn't seem to help.
It must have been because all the people who were more concerned with the EBT card going down over the weekend. I'm sure they voted differently. I'll bet they didn't even know, or care, that there were vets at the monuments this weekend. But you can bet if that freakin card had stayed down for about another 24 hours they would have been standing in the street in front of the White House, and your house and mine too. And they would not have been trying to keep it a "peaceful protest."
But that is okay. When it all goes to hell in the hand basket everybody will be paying attention. And we'll all be in the damn basket. Hello Greece!!!!
But it's not a TAX!
You must be a community liason for Owe'Malley.
Not anything for Owe'Malley, Live in the State of Delaware. Used to live in Maryland years ago. Was driven out by high taxes. The only thing I think is high in Delaware is the auto insurance rate, which they tell me is high because there are less drivers in this small state. Probably the Affordable Care insurance will be higher here for the same reason, not that I will be signing up anytime soon.
