New Pizzeria Coming Soon To The Downtown Plaza

After taking a stroll on Sunday through the Plaza I noticed a new Pizzeria replacing the Plaza Deli.

"Bella" seems to be the name du jour for any Italian/pizza joint opening up anymore. I know of Mia Bella and Bella Pizzeria just to name few.

Bella means beautiful.

Why so negative?

could be a child's name. I heard several little girls being named Maya Bella or vise versa in the past few years and Bella a lot. It's a common name for a pet also. no offense intended. I think it's a pretty name.

pizza laces are a dime a dozen in this city. counted 4 with a half mile on rt. 13 by college. we have 2 within 2 miles of us, one withing walking distance. why go downtown?
kind've like that sports card store that just opened downtown. i've seen, i count, at least 14 sports card shops, come and go in the last 16 years.
having once been a collector. that won't last on the downtown area either.

If they are already in a successful business (coffee shop) they stand a chance as they know the drill so to speak. That drill being most importantly an owner on site at all times.

Jeez - what happened to the Deli?

People who are calling this a stupid idea are in fact ignorant themselves.

The downtown area is a completely separate area from the rest of salisbury.

The whole idea of a downtown setting is being able to go to multiple different types of places without having to get in your car.

So what if there are 5 pizza places within 2 miles, there are zero pizza places on the plaza.

I have lived on the downtown plaza for almost 4 years now and anytime I want pizza I have to either get delivery or drive and get it.

Downtown settings are meant to have everything you need within walking distance.

So far, its just food places coming down here, but that will change in the near future.

Its a start.

So rather than being negative, how about you start participating in city meetings to get your voice out there on issues, or better yet, come support these new local businesses on the plaza?

Show the city that there is a want and need for a busy downtown center.

The key to making this city better is by improving our downtown area.

I worked downtown when there was a downtown and there was nothing in the way of a "good" place to eat back then and there is nothing to support it today.

632, if you go downtown to shop, you have to go to your car each time you want to go to the next store anyway, otherwise you'll get a $10.00 parking fine for not feeding the meter. So why not just go to the shopping center that has a pizzeria and shop 12 stores without having to go to your car between each store?

DUH!
