From threats to vicious phone calls and e-mails, the Klein family has been inundated with angry responses. Now, Aaron and Melissa have announced that they are shutting down their shop.
In a brief phone interview earlier this month, Melissa told TheBlaze that the couple has continued to face upheaval following their faith-based decision. Just days after we spoke, she and her husband announced that this past weekend was the family’s last at its current location.

Hmmm....if the cake people had been muslim and refused to make a cake for Christians, would anybody have heard one thing about this???
Look at Mew Mexico--the Supreme Court there ruled that a photographer could not refuse to photograph a gay couple...saying "it is the price of citizenship".
In a press statement, Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Jordan Lorence, who represented Elane Photography in the case, said the decision was a step toward tyranny. "Government-coerced expression is a feature of dictatorships that has no place in a free country," he said. "This decision is a blow to our client and every American's right to live free."
So now religious freedom has taken yet another blow--this opens the door to more gov't takeover and crushing religious (Christian) freedom. I would wager money that if it had been reversed, and a gay photographer refused to take pics at a straight wedding, the couple would simply have gone to another photographer. To FORCE this photographer to go against their religious beliefs (come on--this is a photographer for God's sake) is such an overreach of government, everybody should be concerned! The government would not force a muslim deli owner to serve a Christian a ham sandwich, would they?
The lesbian couple probably targetted this bakery knowing their views and just wanted publicity so another bakery would agree to do their cake free. No rocket science required to see what happened here.
@5:39,

Thats because it doesn't happen, Christians seem to hold the bigot title in this country.
If you don't want to serve someone that's fine but don't tell them its because of their personal beliefs because you are inviting the well deserved backlash at that point.

You un-American, Christian hating bigot. You have no room to talk. Since you don't like our religious freedoms and our country please leave and take the Kenyan with you.
@8:46
Thanks for proving my point you sad little angry Christian.
I have no problem with what religion you choose to practice but its people like you that give Christians a bad name.
What does Obama have to do with anything? And why am I un-American? Because I don't agree with a group of small minded individuals that you clearly fit in to?
If I was the baker I would make the cake, but my faucet isn't working properly so I will have to get the water from the urinal.
8:52 AM you voted for Obama and his pansy, homosexual lifestyle.
You are perverted and small minded yourself. I bet when your Muslim friends choose you to behead you will be the first one begging to God for mercy.
8:52 the majority of Americans are christian and only about 5% of the US believe that homosexuality is normal and there is nothing normal about 2 men or 2 woman being together. And liberals always resort to name calling when you disagree with them. Thank God everyone does not have a liberal view on life and still holds true to their christians views. Homosexuality will forever remain a sin and is flat out sick and nasty.
8:52 AM I don't think you had a point other than the fact that you are the bigot. Why is it OK for you to hate Christians, but it's not Ok for Americans to dislike Muslims and their murderous ways? Speaking of sad.
These responses continue to prove my point, so please, continue to call me name, threaten me, and and assume I voted for Obama.
I have plenty of Christian friends that I get along with just fine, but then again, they aren't the hateful type as presented here who are so quick to pass judgement(isn't there something in the Bible about that?).
@8:52, if you are going to flat out make up statistics at least make them somewhat believable.
Why is it ok to ask Christian to change their ways but not ok to ask others to change theirs?
@9:41, What goes around comes around.
I'm sure if the bakery owners had simply said they were booked solid there would never had been an issue, instead, they chose the less tactful approach and and it came back to haunt them.

You should try reading the Bible some time instead of figuring out how to conquer you next homosexual accomplishment.
8:46 And there is that "christian" love oozing out. Such a hateful, angry bunch.
Its so sad that so many believe in god. It was created to control you. Created to win wars. Created to have an excuse to kill.
If god was real, do you really think the world would be in the state it currently is?
Religion says that its a sin to murder, right. Well how come killing happens over and over over, all in the name of god. All those who believe in god are all insane, weak minded people and it is so so sad. But unlike you people, I don't hate you for it, I just feel sorry for you.
10:34
Not all religion says that it's asin to murder.
How would you feel if your employer or the government told you that you had to attended a religious service once a week?
@10:17 AM, Still continuing to prove my point, thanks. Looks like you need to take your own advice and pick up the good book, I don't think it would condone your childish behavior right now.
Or you're just a troll, either way, thanks for the laugh.
I'd roll out and live in a tree.
Would have made & delivered a superb cake, with the traditional Bride & Groom (Female & Male) topping. That would be the kind they make. If the couple doesn't want it, they don't have to buy it.
I don't understand the all the back a forth... they stated they did not want to make the cake for them, that is their right. Other people decided to not patronize the store any more...that is their right (threats of volience are obviously over the line}. Simply the free market at work.
This is the reason many people do not want gay marriage. People who believe it to be a sin are forced against their will to participate in something that they feel is wrong. Shame on the homosexual couple for forcing their beliefs on someone else and ruining their business.
This is typical of liberals and progressives. They yammer incessantly about 'tolerance' and 'diversity' until someone dares to hold an opposing view. That's generally when the death-threats and intimidation start.
Sounds like the market spoke, Good!
The fact is any American business should have the right to refuse anything they don't believe in. What right does the government or media have dictating their will. Is this a communist country? If you don't like the store find a homosexual store that caters to homosexuals. It's called "free market" a foreign concept to low life liberal bigots.
@9:58
Always with the name calling. Sounds like you're a bigot against anyone who doesn't share your view.
