Is This Still America?

There are no winners in the trial of George Zimmerman. The only question is whether the damage that has been done has been transient or irreparable.

Legally speaking, Zimmerman has won his freedom. But he can still be sued in a civil case, and he will probably never be safe to live his life in peace, as he could have before this case made him the focus of national attention and orchestrated hate.

More important than the fate of George Zimmerman, however, is the fate of the American justice system and of the public’s faith in that system and in their country. People who have increasingly asked, during the lawlessness of the Obama administration, “Is this still America?” may feel some measure of relief.

But the very fact that this case was brought in the first place, in an absence of serious evidence — which became ever more painfully obvious as the prosecution strained to try to come up with anything worthy of a murder trial — will be of limited encouragement as to how long this will remain America.

The political perversion of the criminal justice system began early and at the top, with the President of the United States. Unlike other public officials who decline to comment on criminal cases that have not yet been tried in court, Barack Obama chose to say, “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”

Zimmerman will lose the civil case (not as hard to prove), get a huge judgement against him.
Then he will then go bankrupt on the judgement and never pay a dime.

11:33--Are you real sure of that? Because if the Martin family loses, THEY will have to pay all of the costs of the trial. And the surpressed evidence of Trayvons 3 suspensions, stolen jewelry in his backpack, pix of him with guns and smoking pot will all come out. Don't be too sure, knowing the mercenary bent of the Martin family they won't risk their newfound wealth from their sons death.

I believe and this according to his attorney O'Mara he can receive immunity from civil liability because it was self defense. So a suit can be filed, defense will ask for and get an immunity hearing and case will be tossed into the circular file.

Zimmerman needs to file a case against the media and the Martins for defamation!

11:33-Zimmerman if in fact there is a civil trial, will prevail hands down. In a civil suit the defense can go after the actions of Trayvon Martin and paint him as a bigoted aggressor as he is the one who made racist slurs that night.
Wrongful death civil suits of course, need only be proved by a preponderance of the evidence which means they would have to prove by 51% that Zimmerman wasn't defending himself. Hard to do considering his injuries, witness statements all corroborated by forensics.
Actually if anything a civil suit would be easier for Zimmerman to prevail than the criminal because there would be no other laws to apply the self defense standard to such as murder/manslaughter. In other words the family would have to prove that Zimmerman wasn't defending himself. It can not be done.

11:33-Civil judgments such as wrongful death, willful injury are nondischargeable debts. if someone goes bankrupt under relevant bankruptcy code provisions these judgments (as well as others such as child support) follow them and they are still liable to pay up.

There is no civil case and I hope his lawyers get billions from suits against the media.

I'm not a lawyer, but my big brother married one, and I have this to say about that;

I'm not qualified to render an opinion on this.

Anyone who does; show your ticket!
