An illegal U-turn by an on-duty officer led to a collision that injured four people, two children seriously, Saturday afternoon in Glen Burnie.
Anne Arundel County police said a marked Howard County Police Dodge Charger collided with a Honda Civic where Route 100 East and Route 10 South merge at 4:17 p.m.
Officials said the initial investigation indicated that the police car was driven by on-duty officer Symchay Kon Bend, a four-year veteran of the Howard County Police Department.

You hear more & more about "cocky police" that think they are above the laws we have. I know a few & they have the same attitude that they can do what ever they want & not get fined .
I hope & pray this will teach this policeman Something!!! He should be ashamed & ridden with guilt for what he's caused!
God Bless those 2 little girls!!!
Police drive 40 hours a week. Accidents will happen, no bigger deal then when any other member of society has an a accident.
most memebers of public dont do illegal U turns, cops do all the time. they are dangerous on the road.
But he was off duty making an illegal u turn 11:58! I can understand if he was working or after a bad guy and he used extreme caution. It sounds like he was abusing his powers via the police car. Imclain, where are you?!!!
Please re-read and note: ON-DUTY.!
The original report does not say this 12:39!!! Read it. Besides he was not in his jurisdiction. GUILTY.
Well it is a big deal, when u make an "illegal" u-turn and cause injury to another person! Just another example of someone wearing a badge who thinks they are above the law! I hope the parents sue, and he faces the same justice as a citizen would.
Who cares, this happens thousands of times a day across this country. Why is it more newsworthy if it is a cop. People who drive more are more prone to be in accidents. Its the law of averages. Cops are human, they make mistakes like the rest of us.
1:51 is correct!
I'm surprised the four people injured were not charged with obstruction and hindering a police officer.
Who cares 3:12? On or off duty the guy broke the law and hurt people. This is was not an "accident".
This cop is in serious doo doo. I bet he loses his job for doing and illegal U-turn in another county and injuring 2 precious children.
I support all police officers, well most, and we do not know what he was doing in that county. He may have been trailing a suspect. Who knows, but never the less my thoughts and prayers go out to the children and their family. I also pray for the police officer, he is human and WE all make mistakes.

No, that's not correct. People who drive more are more experienced and safer than the ones running to walmart and back.
For whatever reason this cop made an error in judgement and hurt people.
He has to deal with his choice the rest of his life.
Hopefully everyone else will have a life too.
