Another way to inflict violence, or a logical method of self-defense?
The County Council is considering whether it makes sense to allow residents to carry Tasers, stun guns and other electronic control devices.
To Margaret Gwathmey of Harwood, the answer is clear.
“Have you ever felt four-and-a-half million volts, Mr. Fink?” Gwathmey asked Councilman Derek Fink, the bill’s sponsor.
“Do you have children in your homes ... What a fun new toy for them,” she said of stun guns.

I have the same one in my home, Why cant i carry it?
They are great and work perfectly for a majority of the population. They however do not work on suspects that are under the influence of certain drugs. There also is a small part of the population that have undiagnosed or diagnosed heart conditions that can prove to be fatal when struck by the tazer but in general they do more good then bad and prevent plenty of injuries to the officers and the suspects. I would much rather be tazed then beat with a stick or sprayed with pepper spray.

Have you ever experienced any of those things?

And that's EXACTLY how some cops view them, as a TOY.
