With Super Bowl Win, A Push Begins To Make The Raven Maryland’s State Bird

Still on a high from Sunday’s Super Bowl, some Baltimore-area lawmakers have introduced legislation to make the raven an official state bird.

Maryland has about two dozen other state symbols, and those already include one state bird: the Baltimore oriole, which happens to be the namesake of a certain baseball team.

But in the wake of the Ravens’ defeat of the San Francisco 49ers, supporters argue that it is time to share the honor.

Somehow the Democrats have some sort of hidden tax in there someplace. They can't do anything in Annapolis that doesn't have a new tax.

This is why Maryland continues to have it's budget crisis. Seriously, what a joke...an official bird...and official cake..and on and on. Who cares? How much money do they waste coming up with this crap?

Orioles were here first...

The mentality of Maryland legislature is laughable and disgusting. Why don't you do something more productive and job profitable for the citizens instead of the stupid state bird, sandwich, cake, on and on?

I will stick with the Oriole as the State Bird!!

I would like to offer up a new state bird to Martin O'Malley. As a matter of fact I'm flipping him the bird right now.

Sorry it is the oriole!

This is really stupid. The Oriole is just fine. Has been for decades.

Oriole.

Love Poe's poem, but the BIRD, the Oriole, goes way back before the sports or any poem etc.

Leave our bird alone!

Besides, basing it on a Superbowl win? They could disappear in the night like the Colts did. No thanks.

an oriole is a much more respected bird than a buzzard.

You know when conversations get awkward, you say, "How 'bout them O's?"

Saying "How 'bout them R's" really doesn't cut it.

Why do all these libtards feel the need to change everything. Ravens won't be on top all the time & in fact, haven't been. What's the matter with the Oriole? Don't we still have them. What's done is done. Leave it be!
