Vermont Man Surrenders Teaching License Over Assault Rifle

BENNINGTON, Vt. – A former Bennington high school teacher has surrendered his teaching license after being treated at a psychiatric hospital last month after he was spotted carrying the same kind of assault rifle used in December's school shooting in Newtown, Conn., and making comments about his school that some found disturbing.

The Vermont Agency on Education says Steven Davis surrendered his license Feb. 7.

Davis, a long-time science and math teacher at Mount Anthony Union High School, was hospitalized Jan. 1 after neighbors spotted him carrying a semi-automatic rifle. Davis also posted videos online criticizing school administrators, the teachers union and co-workers.

"....after he was spotted carrying the same kind of assault rifle used in December's school shooting in Newtown, Conn.,...."

So now they are saying again that an assault rifle was used in this shooting? Last I hear the AR was found in the car and not used. I wish someone would make up there minds!

If you lie enough people will believe!

There was no "assult" rifle used in Connecticut. In fact, it has been illegal for anyone to possess an "assult" weapon since 1939 unless you have a federal 3 license.
When will these libtards stop lying?

So, by exercising his 1st and 2nd amendment rights, he has to forfeit his license to work?

What is wrong with this picture?

I can smell a lawsuit brewing here ...

He's mentally ill.Fortunately he was spotted in time to prevent a tragedy.Lawsuit or not,he is now under a microscope where he belongs. They all start out like this guy,but until recently they were only spotted after the fact. The above comment was correct;an assault rifle was not used in the Newtown shootings, but the guns he had were equally as deadly in this setting.

However, a LOT of people who have mental issues tend to avoid help, since they will be risking the loss of their 2A rights. Mutual marriage counseling, simple wonderment issues, and mild confusion of folks who have friends they wish not to confide in are threats to a person's 2A rights until a line in the sand is drawn at threats, self admission, or admissions of suicidal thoughts.

There really needs to be a big line placed on the public square fro all to abide.

This will abate most, if not all events.
