Raccoon Problem

My grand kids were attacked by a raccoon on corner of park ave and chestnut. You might want to inform people who call animal control no one was there.

If skin is broken you need to take the child to a medical facility and call the Health Department after hours number at 410-543-6996

What???? Immediately get the kids to the doctors for anti rabies treatment since the vaccine is not something all the time kept on hand. Rabies is always fatal and once symptoms appear it is too late. Also vaccine isn't as bad as was once made out to be-things have improved vastly in the area.
I believe it's now down to 3 shots.

You need to go anyway to a med facility even if skin was not broken by raccoon. Any small break or abrasion in the skin that was already there could allow the virus to get into the body.

I had the same problem and they told me that Animal Control was only for "stray dogs" and to call Critter Geters, they wanted 250.00 for removal they are as crazy as Animal Control....

ha ha ha, only for dogs. And they do not even bother with that. Neighbors in the 1000 clock of E Church St have been calling about a neighbor who lets his dog run loose and harrass everyone. Animal control has done NOTHING. I checked the logs and they have been there several times. Their attitude. If they don't see it, it didnt happen. There are also 2 neighbors next to that loose dog that have their dogs tied up with no food/water/shelter in the rain/snow/cold. Animal control does nothing.

12:35, that would be about right. Lets just let a rabid raccoon run around and infect people/animals. Because those who's job it is to protect us decided they didn't want to bother with it.

This is why a .22lr rifle, or .410 bore, should be standard in homes. Dogs, cats, fox, raccoons, etc.

Those shots are HUGE in volume and will put you on your knees! But a raccoon out in the daytime biting people is a good indication it is rabid, making the shots imperative.

Contact Natural Resources Police 410-548-7070 they can assist as raccoons are wildlife not domestic animals

Wicomico county and Salisbury do not have an animal control organization. They only have a dog pound for collecting monies from DOG owners. It is a misnomer for them to have Animal Control printed on their vehicles.

It's a joke people, but if by chance it is'nt,stay clear of the kids who were bitten. If they have rabies and bite someone else then they have it.We used to call it rabies tag.
