Lesson From Rome (55 BC)

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury
should be refilled, public debt should be reduced,
the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered
and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands
should be curtailed, lest Rome become bankrupt.
People must again learn to work instead of living
on public assistance." Cicero, 55 BC

So, evidently we've learned nothing in the past 2,068
years.

This is why we are doomed... as I keep saying... God will take us out to make sure we learn... has done it before...

"The actual quote is: 'The arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed, lest Rome fall.'"
We are doomed but God has nothing to do with it. It is our own idiocracy.

I had also resigned myself to the United States sharing the same fate as Rome--but Americans are inherently different than other countries--up until the Obama administration we have not experienced the rule of a King, Dictator or Tyrant and we are not complacent like Europeans and Brits who have been conditioned to the concept of "Royalty" and a ruling class. We are used to freedom and rights to personal property--we have never known anything else. We are unique and may be the only citizenry able to reverse the current destruction of our Republic. I pray to God there are enough of us left to fight.
