Original Owner Of Hunan Delight Makes Important Remark

I am the original owner of Hunan Delight. We sold the College Ave location in October 2010 (where this incident happened) We now only own the Hunan Delight North (901 North Salisbury Blvd) It is extremely upset to hear something like this is happening. Because to me, customer is family. I was a microbiology major in University of maryland and work as a manager for a restaurant chain. After seeing all the abuses I decided to open a place where customer comes first. Our first place was in Largo maryland. We had a customer that drove from Salisbury to see us. For 2 years he beg us to come to Salisbury. We came and fall in love with Salisbury. In few years we had 3 stores. All built with love and customer care was #1 on the list. We also franchise a Rita's store in Baltimore. Because the work load which was too much to handle. We decided to sell the 2 store. One in College Park and one in Fruitland. We kept the store in North Salisbury Blvd. We have many fans out there. Our first store we were next to a nutrition center and we learn to cook health. We use things like flank steak because it is high quality and less fat. We use hormone free chicken from Perdue. Many of my customer whom I consider family advise me to post so everyone knows. You are welcome to visit me at Hunan Delight (901 North Salisbury Blvd). We had no association with the other 2 Hunan Delight Since October 2010. The phone number for Hunan Delight
North Salisbury Blvd is 410-860-0111. Email is mmritas@yahoo.com. www.hunandelightnorth.com.
Please feel free to email me with any comments. All comments are welcome. Remember, businesses is built with love, not with abuses. This is why many know me by my name.
Thanks
Tony Cheng.

Have found Tony to be very customer oriented with top notch customer service.

Never forget the night our order was messed up & delayed to the point we canceled and did something else. The next day we found under a windshield wiper blade a menu with a note apologizing and offering a comp on the next order.

We had not ordered for some time until a couple of weeks ago. When given the name he said to my wife how it's been a long time, he knew how we liked things, and would be right out - didn't even need an address.

Top notch and earns my business.

What a sincere message from a local business owner. I haven't gone to this business before, but I will now. I like his business philosophy and interest in healthy eating. Their website is great too. I already know what I want to order. :)

I'm sure the guilty party did not see anything wrong with what they did at that time. You can see they were not hiding it. To them, not thinking, they just took a messy job outside. I don't think it will be done again, unless their really stupid. Every camera in Salisbury will be aimed there for a long time.

I agree 2:23. Instead of waiting for this to go away as it will, former owner Mr Cheng promply and sincerly responded to public inquiries regarding the business in question.
I am also thrilled to here they use hormone free chicken. It is no secret that growth hormones in our meat supply is a major cause of cancer esp breast cancer. The cancer cells love the boost given by these hormones to grow inside our bodies. Instead of all this phoney cancer research lawmakers should ban companies from using hormones in our food supply and cancer would drop dramtically if they were sincere. Unfortunately very few lawmakers have the guts and the backbone to go up against the meat industry and their strong lobby. They would rather see people die than to risk offending those that line their pockets.

Too bad they're on the north end of town.

nothing against mr. cheng, but his comments were published so that his business wouldn't be connected with offending business.
Having said that, I am a general manager of a very successful restaurant. i also am a huge fan of hunan in fruitland. is this photo unfortunate? yes. but kevin and his staff are top notch. they also deliver all of the same attributes as mr. cheng's restaurant. please for once delmarva, look at the big picture. the health departments involved and they will ascertain what corrective measures need to be taken.
and before everyone punishes this restaurant, if you really want to know what goes on at your local eateries, you should all require the local health department publish the grading system that worcester county uses that also lists all violations.
Joe, people make unfortunate decisions sometimes in life, as you know. since your readers obviously feel that some less than flattering things in your past don't disqualify you from being mayor, i would hope you would use your wisdom to calm unwarranted hysteria and not let a single incident destroy a fine restaurants business. thank you.

anonymous 3:31, Allow me to start with this. That image made it on Facebook and spread like wild fire.

To target me or Salisbury News for publishing it is simply out of line. IT IS NEWS. I used to own a restaurant, I KNOW THE RULES. You, nor anyone else would ever find room to accept this in any way, shape or form.

I am not here to destroy businesses. I am here to help PROTECT each and every one of you. You almost suggest I should have a bigger and kinder heart for this business, YOU ARE WRONG.

I have proven in the past, even with my own advertisers, IF you happen to fall victim of bad publicity the public needs to know about, I WILL publish that information.

I have a job to do and while some, (like you) may not like it, I will not get the reputation we cover stories up.

If you are not happy with that, there's a big red "X" in the top right hand corner which will take you directly to our complaint department.

As far as the previous owner, I spoke with him earlier today and he was truly concerned. I asked him to put up a comment and I would turn it into a Post. He seemed very honorable.

You
re right 3:31, we shouldn't punish this establishment just because they've shown to disregard the health and well being of their clientele. We should all go out of our way to patronize them and put or big boy britches on when we get food poisoning (or worse) a go out looking at the places that haven't demonstrated unsafe practices that we enjoy to see if we can find something wrong.

Shame you didn't mention the name of where you work - I'd be interested in avoiding it with that kind of attitude.

This is an honest and humble message. I too will visit Mr. Cheng's restaurant. Where exactly on N. Salisbury Blvd is it? I see it is 901 but what is it close to?

There's something I'm not clear on...if this happened on College Avenue, what is he referencing regarding a sold Fruitland location?

Anonymous said...

Cheng just wanted to make clear what he still owns and manages, 7:27.

This really is a great post from the guy. He's just making sure this incident with no connection to him except the restaurant name does not hurt the business he has. He didn't knock anyone, just said, this is how I do it.

I respect that.

901 north salisbury is the same shopping center as subrunner. They are next to cafe milano. Right before ponzittes pizza.
