BERLIN -- Small-town brewery Burley Oak has been invited to next month’s Beer Advocate’s Extreme Beerfest in Boston, confirming for owner Bryan Brushmiller his brewery’s outside-the-box approach to crafting beer is on the right track.
With half a dozen beers being showcased at the festival, Brushmiller said that he’s excited for people outside of Delmarva to taste what’s being brewed in Berlin.
“It feels like someone is paying attention to us and it is definitely some validation,” he said.
Burley Oak has always taken an “experimental” approach to brewing, said Brushmiller, which he believes resonates with event organizers.

They have an awesome product, but not having food available is a major drawback. Their beers have big tastes but also big alcohol contents and it's too easy to exceed safe driving limits.
Incredibaly cool ... way to go Brian and team!
This is what Salisbury needs.
11:13, Salisbury has a micro-brewery. Evolution Brewery on Eastern Shore Drive, not far from the hospital and downtown.
Helping make that happen is one of the good things the council doesn't get credit for.
The problem with downtown is Ireton is catering to the same old business interests who have done next to nothing for downtown for 20 years. Jake Day, one of the guys running against Debbie Campbell says he wants to be Ireton's partner. That would cost him my vote right there, even if Debbie wasn't running again. Plus, Ireton led everyone to believe he was "partnered" with Debbie Campbell. Now we know what a lie that was just to get into office. If supporting that is what Day is all about, run the other way.
