Ammo Availability & Price

Joe,

When you get a chance, Google “ammo” and try shopping for 500 and 1000 rounds of ammo. AR15 & ak47 rounds are sold out on most sites. Some have a few 20 round boxes left. 9mm pistol ammo is gone as well. There are a few boxes of buckshot and rifled slugs left, but even 30-06 and other hunting rifle ammo is in short supply.

In addition, prices have gone up 1 ½ to 2 times what they were in November. If anyone is short on any ammo these days, get in line fast!

Why do you need so much ammo loonies?

Alex, to shoot. That's why people buy ammo. Are you the loony?

Ammo is a more affordable hedge against inflation than gold at this point. And since you can break it down into individual rounds, you have a rather small unit of value should the dollar crash and we have to revert to a barter economy. Who is going to have enough value for you to consume your entire gold bar or coin? Even if you don't have use of the rounds themselves, dropping a few hundred bucks on ammo might not be a bad idea.

The downside is that ammo is expensive and scarce at this point and you might end up buying high.

I'm guessing that part of our government buying 1.6 billion rounds last year (only legal for domestic use, BTW) and Obama's eliminating the industry to remanufacture spent casings was to create a market shortage during their push to confiscate weapons. None of this stuff happens by accident.

.308 was completely gone in gander last week.

Milsurplus stuff like old German ammo has disappeared 6 months ago.

I am reading that a lack of components is behind production backlogs. Also, Obama has some sort of involvement in not allowing reuse of brass. A lot of ammo is foreign made, Russian, Serbian, Italian etc. The Russian & Serbian ammo is probably restricted, to some extent, in regard to recent trade disagreements.
It all looks like a push by the current administration's agenda to appear to be complying with the United Nations' new guns policy. And, I'm sure there are numerous other, government sanctioned, caveats involved most unconstitutional and all agenda driven.

gun and ammo catalogs are now being printed with no list prices. You must call for a price to order.

Alex sits around lolly gagging on porn and 420 and doesn't make it to the range to even begin to understand the enjoyment people get out of sport shooting.

The Government has been buying up ammo by the MILLIONS of rounds.
Gee, I wonder why civilians can't get any?

I still have one with your name on it.
