Traffic Stop Leads To Counterfeit Sneaker Arrest, Milford

Arraigned at JP2 for the Counterfeiting charge and released on $1,000.00 unsecured bond.

Milford, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Georgia man in connection with possession 40 pairs of counterfeit sneakers.
 
The incident began when a trooper on patrol clocked a silver Chevrolet Malibu traveling in excess of the posted speed limit on Coastal Highway (SR1) south of Milford.  Upon conducting a traffic stop, the trooper made contact with Eric J. Loatman, 30 of Atlanta, Georgia who was traveling with a female passenger and observed an abundant amount of boxes in the car.  As the investigation continued, Loatman gave consent to search the vehicle and the trooper discovered 40 pairs ofNike Air Force Ones with the same exact serial number located throughout the Chevy Malibu.
 
Eric Loatman, who was unable to produce receipts for the merchandise he allegedly purchased in New Jersey, was brought back to Troop 7 in Lewes where he was subsequently charged with Trademark Counterfeiting.  He was arraigned at JP2 and released on $1,000.00 unsecured bail.  He was also issued a traffic citation for speeding.  The female passenger was not charged in this case.
