Obama On Filibuster Reform: White House Embraces Harry Reid's Rule Changes

WASHINGTON -- Jumping squarely into the white-hot debate currently being waged in the Senate, the White House on Wednesday said it supports Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's efforts to change the rules of the upper chamber.

"The President has said many times that the American people are demanding action," White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said in a statement to The Huffington Post. "They want to see progress, not partisan delay games. That hasn't changed, and the President supports Majority Leader Reid's efforts to reform the filibuster process."

"Over the past few years important pieces of legislation like the DREAM Act, the Paycheck Fairness Act, and the American Jobs Act weren't even allowed to be debated, and judicial nominations and key members of the administration are routinely forced to wait months for an up-or-down vote," Pfeiffer added. "The American people deserve a United States Senate that puts them first, instead of partisan delay."

Once this move is made, there will be no turning back. Laws will be forced down out throats at lightning speed. None of us will even have time to write out Congressmen; the majority party will rule with an iron fist and nothing will need discussion.
Write today and just say NO!

The American people deserve a Congress that works FOR the people. When they are not in Washington doing their job, they should not be paid. When they do not do the usual things required of them like balancing the budget, NO paycheck! Their job description should be very explicit and when not followed there would be deductions in their paycheck. If Congress had these incentives I believe things would work in a more efficient manner.

Congress' inability to act has been saving this country for a long time. Those morons rubber stamp just about anything put in front of them. Remember Pelosi on Obamacare? "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it." I'll never vote for an idiot who passed that while in office. It just proves they don't know what they are voting on.
