The Washington area remembers Snowmaggedon all too well -- the two-
day storm in February 2010 dumped nearly three feet of snow on parts of the
region.
But most winter storms lack a name. That, however, is about to change.
This winter, blizzards are going to get formal names -- just like hurricanes.
The Weather Channel will assign the winter storm names for the first time, reports

Interesting....now insurance companies will be relieved of having to spend billions since most all have a clause that create a deductible of 10% of the total policy amount value for damages caused by named storms. If the house is insured for $250,000 with a $500 deductible, the deductible will be raised to $25,000 if damaged is caused by a named storm.
Dumb

In the meantime, I think that names are funny. Love the Star Trek references "Khan" and "Q"
