Moment of Silence

Observed a moment of silence in memory of former Wicomico Middle student Brooke Shockley, former Wicomico County Council President Henry S. Parker, and the families and victims of 9/11.

Public Comments

Heard from a Pemberton Elementary parent who said that while he was initially opposed to his child not having as much choice under the Consistent Attire Program, he now supports CAP as a great move forward. Two administrators in charge of the CAP pilot program, Karen Parsons and Antionette Perry, shared details of how CAP is working in the nine pilot schools, what has been done to help families outfit their children properly, and the translation of the CAP brochure into several languages. Board President Ron Willey said he was glad to hear CAP seems to be off to a good start in its test year.

Heard from parent and former Board member L. Michelle Wright regarding the FY 2014-2019 Capital Improvement Plan. She asked the Board to continue to keep Mardela Middle and High School on its radar screen for capital improvements.
