Troopers Investigating An Attempted Robbery, Rehoboth Beach

Location: Church Street in front of YMCA, Rehoboth Beach, DE

Date of Occurrence: Monday August 6, 2012 at approximately 11:25 p.m.

Victim: 23 year old male

Suspect:
Black male, 16 – 19 years old, 5’09” – 5’10”, 150 lbs., wearing a red hooded sweat shirt with white lettering across the front, black baggie shorts, white sneakers with white socks up to his knees. Armed with a silver handgun.

Resume:
Rehoboth Beach, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating an attempted robbery of a victim walking in the area of the YMCA.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:25 p.m. Monday night as a 23 year old male was walking southwest on Church Street near the YMCA. A black male, who was walking in the opposite direction, approached the male victim and pointed a handgun at him. The suspect then demanded the victim’s money. The victim was able to push the suspect away and ran toward Coastal Highway where he was able to reach safety. As the victim looked back, he saw the suspect running toward Rehoboth Ave before he lost sight of him. The victim was not injured in this incident.
