GREAT AMERICAN LEGION BBQ & CHILI COOK-OFF

Salisbury, MD - August, 20 2012 – Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 29th! Salisbury American Legion Post 64 will be hosting the Great American Legion BBQ & Chili Cook-off. The event will begin at 10 AM and end at 5 PM at the Legion Post, across the street from the Armory on Rt. 50 in Salisbury. Locals are invited to prove their barbeque or chili is the best there is!

Along with the competition there will be chicken, burgers and dogs cooked by the Legion; fun activities for the kids from noon to 5 PM including a bouncy house, Sunshine the Clown, train rides and many games with prizes; a tattoo contest conducted by Harley-Davidson; a corn hole tournament manned by the Legion Riders; craft and commercial vendors and live entertainment.

The entry fees are $20 per category for BBQ ribs and/or chicken; $20 per category for the chili; craft vendors are $25 and commercial vendors are $50. Local dignitaries have been selected as judges and trophies will be awarded to the winners. A cash prize will be given for the Grand Champion in both BBQ and Chili. The public is invited and there is no entrance fee; however, donations will be gladly accepted.

Since 1919, the American Legion has been supporting VETERANS from all branches of our Armed Forces. To the wonderful, patriotic citizens of Wicomico County - Help us to continue sponsoring Scholarships for our children, give aid and assistance to our local needy Veterans and their families, and our Active Duty Personnel.
