Report: 83 Percent of Doctors Have Considered Quitting over Obamacare

Eighty-three percent of American physicians have considered leaving their practices over President Barack Obama’s health care reform law, according to a survey released by the Doctor Patient Medical Association.

The DPMA, a non-partisan association of doctors and patients, surveyed a random selection of 699 doctors nationwide. The survey found that the majority have thought about bailing out of their careers over the legislation, which was upheld last month by the Supreme Court.

Even if doctors do not quit their jobs over the ruling, America will face a shortage of at least 90,000 doctors by 2020. The new health care law increases demand for physicians by expanding insurance coverage. This change will exacerbate the current shortage as more Americans live past 65.

The doctors are the controlling factor that Obama never considered. So if they walk off the job, is he going to put them in jail. If the voters don't overturn Obama care, the doctors will. It may just be the beginning of restoring our freedoms that Obama has been taking away.

I am a doctor and good luck to the general public... hate to say it, but the people who voted for this law and this unlawful President have it coming to them.

I won't go to jail for not working, but will be cutting my time back and retiring early. It's just not worth the risk anymore... and this law makes it that much worse

They should refuse service to those who were able to opt out of this forced behavioral care.

I went to a dermatologist the other day, that said she did support Obama care. I had a skin rash and she suggested I take a bath in milk. I said, pasteurized? She said past-ur-ass, you can splash the rest.

To the doctors,
Majority of the doctors today only give us 5 minutes of their time anyway. And, the treatment plans given to us by you don't work anyway. We spend nearly an hour in the waiting room. Afterwards, 15 minutes with a CNA or a LPN or a RN or a PA for S.O. A. P. Then, here you come with the Hi and I'm Doctor So and So. Your accessement is short and brief/ The prescription is written and handed to us. You say, "have a good day" and exit the room. This is what you all do for us. NOTHING. If you all decide to leave the field, retire or go practice medicine for the rich, trust me; we don't need you. There are more inspirational people out their to whom are willing to help and do the right things for people who really need help. You guys are all about the money. This is why so many people in this area can't receive life saving Tx and surgery and dying afterwards. It's all about the dollar bill with you people.

You may feel well right now, but one day you will be sick and in need of a physician.
Good Luck!

11:37, You can blame it on AGH and PRMC who now a days alot of the practices are owned by. It is my understanding that they "encourage" the physicians to see a patient every 15 minutes. More like assembly line medicine than anything else. It's only going to get worse under Obamacare.

Whats funny is you clowns jump to conclusions based off a survey from a source I guarantee you never heard of and never checked on using a methodology that you didn't even take the time to look at. lol, but whatver, as long as the story strokes your partisan ideology.

Also take note that the projected doctor shortage is due to increased demand, not doctors dropping out of the workforce as the story implies. Seems you clowns should be encouraging your kids to be "snobs" and go to college so they can go into the high demand medical field.

9:09 says-"Also take note that the projected doctor shortage is due to increased demand, not doctors dropping out of the workforce as the story implies"

The story "implies" this?

The story clears STATES-

"Even if doctors do not quit their jobs over the ruling, America will face a shortage of at least 90,000 doctors by 2020. The new health care law increases demand for physicians by expanding insurance coverage."

No wonder 9:09 fell hook line and sinker for Obamacare. Their comprehension skills are critically lacking.
