Look at the top 100 salaries as of 2009. If anyone needs a union it's the restaurant and hotel employees not the government workers. These salaries don't include all the benefits.

Do they have anyone that can run and manage a waste water treatment plant?
If Salisbury is paying a high dollar department head, AND someone that can operate our WWTP, it might be cheaper to pay more, to get a better department head that can operate the WWTP! Then we wouldn't also have to be paying an outsource to operate our WWTP?
Does Salisbury also have a city engineer (like OC) that also can't operate the WWTP?
If that's the case, both are worthless, public works director and the city engineer!

Dude, the union that is trying to form is for the "general" employees. You need to exclude Fire, Police, and EMS from the list. They already are unionized and should not have been included. Maybe you need to investigate further before putting this crap out there and getting everyone hyped up!

The police department non-commissioned officer's salaries are so high becuase of overtime. The chief of police in little Ocean city makes more then most of her counterparts across the state that have over 1,500 officers. I will say that the pd retirement sucks, hopefully they are socking away some of that extra pay.

This "too many chiefs not enough indians" syndrone was allowed to proliferate when the current council minority was the majority. Voters spoke and now we have a council who understands finances, economics and the fact that the good times are over and the money ain't rolling in like it was.
I'll take the job of RECREATION/PARKS DIRECTOR @ $140,321.75. That's incredible.
I'll do a better job for half that amount.

Most of the "elite" members in Worcester County's & Ocean City's local governments who FREQUENTLY frequent the area's bars are a DISGRACE and are worthy of no respect whatsoever!
I dont understand how the list is showing a PFC Officer making 90k even with overtime that number is way off. Starting salary for newbies and let alone lateral transfers I am sure is in the mid to upper 40k range.
Yeah, those restaurant workers should be making as much as the police! Lives are in danger every day when you're serving burgers to tourists.

OC pays bus drivers a decent rate. Unfortunately, they hire SO MANY drivers that it's tough to get more than 3 days work. Some of their "supervisors" though are such jerks that many long term drivers are quitting. Mention the name "Frank" to them and their blood boils. He is a jerk and every passenger on the bus witnesses his "bedside manner".

This guy has made hundreds of thousands of dollars representing developers in their real estate projects (sailors watch, mariners watch, coral seas, bella vista). Do you think he would have got the listings on those projects if he weren't the mayor. To me it's a big conflict of interest.
