Panel Helps Postal Workers To Work Smarter

The president of the National Association of Letter Carriers has proposed a panel to help the Postal Service work smarter. Fredric Rolando told GovExec the panel would include agency stakeholders who would propose and vet ideas for new revenue streams. He said the panel would not resemble the commission proposed by House Republicans. He said current legislation doesn't do enough to explore new revenue streams, like partnerships with banks, pharmacies and other government services. NALC represents 200,000 mail carriers and has lost about a quarter of its employees in the last two years.

Why work smarter when you're gonna get paid regardless?

Hey, I need to hire another person for each of my existing employees so they can teach them how to do their jobs better. This will save me money. If anyone would like to invest in my company so I can do this, call me up and let me know how much you're in for!

Work smarter?
It is not the carriers , just how smart do you have to be to deliver mail?
If you visit some local post offies , you will find out.
My answer is , just do something besides talk on the cell phone or gossip. "just be productive , or is work a nasty word."
I say get rid of the excessive waste ( people) in all the local small Post offices.
Go to any of these in the area , see for youself.

considering my neighbors find other peoples mail all over our neighborhood, I don't know how you are going to teach someone that lazy to work smarter! If you can't match a mail box number with a number on a letter you got to be pretty damn stupid!

The USPS certainly needs to work smarter - I recently mailed a certified letter to another town but it was returned "undeliverable". I called that town's post office and re-confirmed name & address were correct but they couldn't explain why the letter was returned. I then emailed a complaint thru the USPS website and can you believe I got a call back from the postmaster in our town who obviously couldn't help with an issue in another town - the USPS defintely needs help inside & out.
