Killens Pond Water Park to Host “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™” Event

On Thursday, June 14, Killens Pond Water Park will be a host location for the “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™,” a global effort designed to raise awareness and encourage education for drowning prevention. Aquatic facilities around the world participate in this event, holding simultaneous swim lessons at 11:00 a.m. in an effort to break the Guinness World Record for largest simultaneous swimming lesson conducted. The 2012 “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™” will endeavor to beat their own Guinness World Record from 2011, when over 20,000 individuals participated in the international event.

Registration for the “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™” at Killens Pond Water Park will begin at 10:30 a.m. on June 14. Lessons will start promptly at 11:00 a.m. and last for 45 minutes. Normal entrance fees apply for the park, and participants are welcome to stay at the water park after the event. For more information, call 302-284-4526.

My great grandfather owned Killens Pond way back when.I've only been there 3 or 4 times,but all the new stuff is a far cry from when apple orchards surrounded the pond.
