On Thursday, June 7, 2012, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Ocean City Police responded to the 200 block of 142nd Street for a report of a loud party with approximately 100 people. Plain clothes officers working RAAM (Reducing the Availability of Alcohol to Minors) enforcement observed loud noise, including voices yelling, from approximately 200 feet before approaching the residence.
In addition to a noise ordinance violation, officers observed several people standing in and around the residence with alcoholic beverages. As additional officers arrived on scene and approached the residence several individuals fled the area.

Along with the nine arrests for noise violations, officers on scene issued approximately 50 civil citations or uniform juvenile civil citations to the individuals who were inside the unit. At the time of this release, Pastorius, Weihous, Bechtold, Walther and Church were awaiting an initial appearance in front of an Ocean City District Court Commissioner, while the four juvenile subjects have been released to the custody of their parents.
Ocean City Police will continue to strictly and aggressively enforce the Town of Ocean City noise ordinance. In addition, uniformed and plain clothes officers will continue RAAM enforcement in order to reduce the underage drinking.

What happened to the days when cops tried NOT to get people in trouble?
The days when a cop came up and said, "sorry, don't mean to interfere but you all have to keep it down. Don't make me come back. thank you."
Now, the cops are SO disturbed and maliciously vindictive, ready to wield a power trip, they go in, no warning and bust everything they can bust! They even call animal control to party's on occasion to take cats and dogs into custody.
Idiots.
Since Ocean City has had so many traffic fatalities this year maybe their time would be better spent monitoring/ticketing the speeders, drag racers and jaywalkers. I don't know...somehow I don't find a group of senior week kids having a party that big of a deal.
1:11 and 1:54 - They do routinely give verbal warnings, and they do go after more serious offenses. That's a residential area, 11:30 on a work night, not some vacant field out in Bishopville. You try having that next door when you have to go to work Friday morning. Next time you two need help in the middle of the night, call a few drunk 18-year-olds.
Really, I don't think that breaking up a party and arresting teens is any great achievement.
Not only that 2:54 but these drunk kids cause 1000's of dollars of damage to other property owners. I know I lived in OC for over 30 years. June was a nightmare. We would wake up in the morning to find not only urine but feces under our deck, our flowers molested and sometime kidnapped never to be seen again, our fence broken, one time the side mirror on my car broken, and things stolen such as porch furniture.
If they wanted to have a loud party with 100 guests then they should do that in a home that they own and not rent.
Outstanding job as usual! Keep up the great work!
If you see nothing wrong with these kids coming here and doing these sorts of things, you must not care what could happen to them. I believe the police do need to step in and take care of situations like this. As far as someone getting hit by a car how do you suppose they control that? That would be virtually impossible. Let them save kids where they can. Let me ask you this would you want your 16 year old daughter at a party like this? I should hope not.
Ride thru Sunset Island at Th street and you will find these kids smoking Bongs, drinking beer, and speeding around in vehicles!
wow. the ocpd never fails to amaze me. they get more ridiculous every year. i mean really a noise complaint? those power crazed rookies will arrest for anything!
