A 21-year-old is about to become the youngest student ever awarded a medical doctorate by the University of Chicago.

Yano, who was reading at age 2, writing at 3 and composing music at 5,
will graduate this week from the Pritzker School of Medicine, where he
also received a Ph.D. in molecular genetics and cell biology, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Yano began college at age 9 and earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University at age 12 – summa cum laude, the Tribune reports.

i feel sorry for highly intelligent children like this young man. i mean, its awesome that he's so smart and hopefully (more than likely, even) he'll do something great for man kind. but socially, what kind of life has he had up to this point and what kind of life will he lead in the future? one has to assume that he couldn't have had any kind of normal childhood - he started COLLEGE at age 9!
i'm thankful for highly intelligent people like him, but i'm very glad to be raising an average child :)
Bet he hasn't had "handouts".
