Brush Fire in Queen Anne's County Mostly Contained

Operations at a 30- to 50-acre brush fire in Romancoke should continue well into the night, officials said at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

The fire, which is off state Route 8 near Wicomico Road, is about 90 percent contained and some units have been released. Since the blaze started this morning, crews on scene included firefighters from Caroline, Kent, Queen Anne's, Anne Arundel and Talbot counties and from Delaware, along with the U.S. Naval Academy, Ft. Meade, military and forestry department assistance.
