Putin Opts Out of G-8 Summit, Cancels Meeting With Obama

Russian President Vladimir Putin is skipping a planned visit to the United States this month for an economic summit and a much-anticipated meeting with President Barack Obama, the White House announced Wednesday.

The Russian leader told Obama by phone that he is unable to join the other leaders of the Group of Eight industrial nations meeting outside Washington on May 18-19 because he needs to finish work setting up his new Cabinet, the White House said. The Obama administration had moved the gathering to the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland from the planned venue in Chicago partly to accommodate Putin.

Neither the White House nor the Kremlin had discussed the change in plans until Wednesday, but a White House official said National Security Adviser Tom Donilon was informed of it when he visited Putin and other Russian officials in Moscow last week.

Wow. Obama has really turned our image in the world around. Pakistan, Russia, Egypt, Libya, Afghanistan, Turkey all love us.

Thanks Mr. Obama for all you've done. One term I can gladly embrace - one term!

Are you retarded? We have NEVER had a good relationship with Russia. Its always been a mutual relationship. And Im pretty sure Bush started Afghanistans issue with us.

Our relations with pakistan are no different than they were 5 years ago. If anything, they are on thin ice with us for aiding and harboring the worlds most wanted man for 5 years.

Our social status throughout the world has gotten no worse or better over the past 4 years. You can thank our government for creating this massive US Military-Industrial complex for that. We put bases in other countries all around the world who do not want them. We piss off everyone with our war mongering and intimidation tactics.

We are the bully of the world and its despicable.

STOP BLAMING EVERYTHING ON OBAMA. Grow up, get educated and then speak on the subject.
