85 Shots: US Cops Use More Ammo Per Man Than Germans Per Year

Eighty-five shots: That’s the total number of bullets German police used in all of 2011, Der Spiegel reports. But what does it say when US cops use as much ammo to bring down one man as German cops need to keep the peace nationwide?
The rate at which German police discharged their firearms is further underscored by how rarely they shot with fatal intent. Of the 85 bullets used in 2011, 49 were warnings shots, 36 were aimed at criminal suspects, 15 people were injured, and 6 were killed, the German daily continues.
The statistics prove "our police officers are not thugs in uniform,”Christian Democratic insider Lorenz Caffier said.

And when comparing Germany with the United States, another story altogether appears. Although police in the United States have to file a report every time they use their firearm in the line of duty, either through sheer volume or disinterest, no statistics are readily available on the amount of ammunition used annually. But though the number of shell casings spent by the boys in blue has not been tallied, there are other indicators that something is amiss when it comes to state-sponsored violence in the US. The US population is almost four times that of Germany's, yet its level of police violence is exponentially higher.

The police in this country have to put up with major BS. Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson , obamie and many more.
Just look at the show "COPS" . , do a head count of negros and Hispanics who are guilty of crimes.
I've done the count many times ,
it's 92%.
Wonder why I'm a racist?
Facts are Facts people , you do the count.
Wonder what happened to the trooper who shot the negro ,
he was given a medal for his bravery.

America is the most violent country in the world, it's not the police's fault people try to kill them.

I think your words would apply to you very well also.

You can try to play it off or laugh it off but the fact is the actions of the police have a direct correlation to the actions of some people.

And as the police grow more and more untamed, unprofessional, violent, feelings of entitlement to act any way they feel, and the impunity they enjoy while strutting around with complete disregard to people's rights and dignity.

Your own lack of concern speaks volumes and is typical of todays police force in many areas of this country.

And just as police show a lack of respect for others, others are continuously showing a greater lack of respect for the police.

This is very troubling to people who know where this is heading.

So while you laugh and joke and show little concern for the numbers, do not expect them to reduce any time soon.

On the contrary, I expect them to continue to rise.

And while I do not exactly condone the killing of police officers, it comes as no great surprise to me that it does happen and in some cases, even justified to some degree.
