Mother In Custody After Stabbing Infant At Social Services Office

City police say a mother is in custody and receiving a mental health evaluation after she stabbed her baby girl this morning at a local Department of Social Services office. 

The baby is 8 months old and was stabbed multiple times in the neck and chest with a long kitchen knife, according to authorities.

It happened at the DSS office at 3031 East Biddle Street near Edison Highway. The baby is at Hopkins in critical condition. She is expected to survive.

An eyewitness who was at the complex tells WBAL Radio News that he heard the call come in to a nearby police officer.

This is just so sad to hear about. I pray that the child survives and is placed in a loving home. I also pray that the employees who saw this happen get counseling. What a terrible thing to see happen!

3:21 so they can keep that there and we keep the animals who scald their children (sometimes to death) or date a convicted pedophile in hopes that they have changed, or my favorite..you know a child is being abused but forgot to report it...GIVE ME A BREAK!
This type of crime is everywhere, it is sad that you don't realize it.
