Pavement and Rehabilitation Projects in Northern Sussex and Southern Kent Counties Will Require Daytime & Nighttime Lane Restrictions
Beginning Monday, April 2
Dover -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that a pavement and rehabilitation project will begin on Monday, April 2. This project will consist of milling, hot-mix patching, paving, and curb ramp improvements to meet compliance regulations with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). No work is scheduled to occur on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The contractor will resume work on Monday, April 9.
The following roads will have intermittent lane closures:
Route 13 from Adams Road to Kent County Line
Route 13 from Sussex County Line to Tower Hill Road
Northbound lane closures will occur from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. Southbound lane closures will occur from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
A construction date with daytime lane restrictions will be announced later for the following roadways:
Market Street from Delaware Avenue to Route 13
Route 13 southbound from Route 404 to Cannon Road
Greenwood Road from Route 13 to First Street
George & Lynch of Dover, Delaware is the contractor for this $5.2 million project. The project is expected to be completed by mid-September, pending weather.
Access to all businesses and residences within the project limit will be maintained throughout the duration of this contract.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution, slow down in work zones, and expect delays.
