No. It's like the Daily Times. Without the junk mail, ie advertising, there would be nothing to read. And the sports section would have no news if Tiger Woods wasn't in it.

The volume of advertising mail in my mailbox has dropped considerably, I really do not see what the fuss is about. If you don't want it put it in the recycle bin.
It is like saying do you think WBOC should stop all TV commercials, of course people will say yes but then when they are out of business and we have no TV people will complain.
Advertising mail is not the evil monster people try to say it is. Most of it is printed on recycled paper these days, put it back in the recycle bin and keep the cycle going.

12:56 I have to agree with you on that. What was the purpose of the Do Not Call list? I still get calls even though I'm on that list. I have a credit card company that calls me daily even though I have told them they have the wrong number.
Junk mail makes jobs. Non profits and senders of junk mail contract out to centers for the developementally disabled who collate and stuff the envelopes.
It is called capitalism and if someone doesn't like the junk they get, just toss it in the trash can.
As far as saving a tree, trees are grown for the explicit purpose to be harvested same as they do with crops.
