Keeping hands at "10 and 2" is no longer the rule of thumb, says AAA as well as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrationand others. The advent of airbags makes the driving position obsolete.
The new suggestion is to keep hands at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock or 8 and 4, much safer positions if an airbag deploys.

Awesome!
10&2 could cause you to lose a finger or two if the airbag deploys.
