There is a threat of severe thunderstorms this afternoon into early this evening as a cold front sweeps through the region.
The time frame for the greatest threat is 3-7 p.m., according to Storm4 meteorologist Tom Kierein.
Why the severe weather threat? An area of low pressure and its associated cold front will move through this afternoon and early this evening. As the front nears, winds will increase.
