THE SALISBURY CITY COUNCIL WILL HOST AN OPEN MEETING OF THE CITY WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS FROM WICOMICO COUNTY, THE CITY OF FRUITLAND AND THE TOWN OF DELMAR, MD TO DISCUSS RESULTS OF THE TAX DIFFERENTIAL STUDY. WICOMICO COUNTY AND THE THREE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS EACH CONTRIBUTED TO FUNDING THE STUDY, WHICH WAS ISSUED IN APRIL 2010. FINDINGS SHOWED SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE MUNICIPALITIES DID WARRANT VARYING LEVELS OF TAX RELIEF FROM THE COUNTY.
THE MEETING WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 2012 AT 10:00 A.M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, ROOM 301, OF THE GOVERNMENT OFFICE BUILDING, LOCATED AT 125 N. DIVISION STREET, SALISBURY, MD.
FOLLOWING OPENING REMARKS AND INTRODUCTIONS, MR. EDWARD J. DONAHUE, PRESIDENT/CEO OF MUNICIPAL AND FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP, WILL PROVIDE A PRESENTATION ON THE TAX DIFFERENTIAL STUDY PERFORMED BY HIS COMPANY. AFTER MR. DONAHUE’S PRESENTATION, DISCUSSION AMONG THE OFFICIALS WILL BE HELD. THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND AND OBSERVE THIS OPEN SESSION.
