Joe, That is a hard one to answer. I think it depends on the circumstance.
But somethings are difficult to explain that is for sure.

If you believe in God and believe what He says in the Bible, there are no coincidences.
What happens, happens because He ordains or allows it, and if you trust Him and obey Him, you WILL be OK, no matter what the 'circumstances' look like.
Study chaos theory. Then re-ask the question,
Wow, 11:51, God has ordained and allowed some pretty horrific stuff thru time. If you are religious, why not give God credit for the good stuff, and Satan credit for the bad.
Back to the question...the only coincidences I believe in are the random ones.
