“Sorry, we’re closed.”
In one of the saddest signs of the times, this message is popping up all across the country, as governors and legislators are cutting off funds (and shutting off access) to one of the finest, most popular assets owned by the people of our country: state parks.
More than 6,600 of these jewels draw some 700 million visitors a year to their grand vistas, historic sites, abundant wildlife, majestic forests, cascading waters, expansive beaches, nature trails, campgrounds, educational centers and lodges. Parks are a tangible expression of America’s democratic ideals, literally a common ground for every man, woman and child to enjoy, learn, absorb ... or just be.

TOTAL absolute BS. Those parks and land belong to us (as in "we, the people", who OWN THEM). Who in the hell do they think they are, telling American citizens that we can't go into, or on, our own property? Public MASTERS, thats who--- not public servants. I don't need a Park Ranger to oversee my visit or a bureaucrat to "OK' my trip to Yellowstone. If a bear eats me, or if I fall off a cliff, well, thats the danger of the wild. They think too much of themselves AND too little of the citizens whose money they TOOK to buy that land. Its OURS. ALL ours. Put a 12 gauge round through that "closed" sign and do as you please. Save one for the idiot who shows up later to tell you that you'll have to leave....and continue to do as you please.
To point out to anon 2:54PM:
This is one other step they need to take total control and or to bring about a one world govt...
If you saw a video clip of some old Texan bastard of a senator (Must be an old senator because he isn't on the list), you will see why they want this so call "public land"
They want this public land because under it is acquirers and to them that equals free money... Basically they are pumping the free water or water from the public lands and putting them into plastic bottles and are selling it... The plastic bottle industry is one of the few whom are not regulated or regulated slightly... the law says water has to be transported in containers, I.E. bottles... they are selling this water to china and other parts of the world who's resources are running out... This said senator made legislation that would allow him to buy land near parks or but the parks themselves and they can pump out water as-long as they don't "disturb the surrounding lands"
There is a study by a guy that looked into this matter and sure enough they great lakes are part of it, he said in one year the lake water level sank 12 feet all due to these pumps sucking water out...
I wish I could get you a picture or the guys name but I can't find him anywhere on Google... I do know that Joe posted a video about it a month or so back...
Basically he told someone in an interview that they are doing what i said above and if anyone cares, to bad they will just go thirsty if they didn't pay for the water...
I'm with 254, that's my land to share with all my brothers and sisters! So what if the hired caretakers decide not to show up for work. Fire them, we can do the job ourselves! And I have plenty of backup...
