Single Vehicle Fatal Crash I495

·         Emil J. Price-59 year old male, of Wilmington, DE (Deceased, properly restrained)

·         2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

Resume:

Wilmington-The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred last night on I495 in Wilmington.

The crash occurred at approximately 9:28 p.m. last evening as Emil J. Price-59 of Wilmington, was operating a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser traveling I495 southbound, north of Edgemoor Road.

For unknown reasons, the PT Cruiser drifted off of the right (west) side of the roadway and down the grass embankment, with the front of the PT Cruiser striking a large tree.  Upon arrival of responding Troopers, Price was found to be in cardiac arrest.  Troopers performed CPR until the arrival of EMS.  Price was transported by EMS to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigation determined that Emil J. Price was the sole occupant of the PT Cruiser and was properly restrained.  Alcohol is NOT considered a factor in this crash.  The roadway was not closed as a result of this incident.
