Congressional Websites Crashing

Congressional websites have been crashing amid public response to the debt ceiling impasse. President Barack Obama, in his speech to the nation earlier this week, asked the American public to let members of Congress know what they think about the budget debate, and they answered the call with visits to congressional websites. The Washington Post reports, since the speech at least nine websites for House and Senate leaders went down. And it's not just websites. House telephone circuits were near capacity too.

Everybody saying "Stop Spending" all at once?

I watched a report on CBS this morning and they said the White House didn't say if the calls were for or against the Obama's plan. I said what plan? Obama still hasn't put a plan on the table.

The mentality in Washington has now hit our streets locally as well I see. What a shame!
They're ALL supposed to be working towards the same goal and that goal is to represent WE the people!
Neither party is doing it!
The Republicans and the Tea Partiers have decided they will make Obama fail at ANY cost. With that mentality, we're all doomed!
I hope Obama uses invokes the 14th Amendment of our Constitution and saves us from disaster related to this debt ceiling. That alone should insure that some of these idiots who are bound and determined to send us into a tailspin never get re-elected.
Not many had a problem raising it in the past for George W. Bush but because it's Obama, it's a different story.
We're STILL paying for Bush's mess but some don't want to recognize that FACT.

PLEASE. Please. Stop with the "it's Bush's fault". HOW LONG is that going to be the mantra of the left? And AFTER spending TRILLIONS to "fix" things, NOTHING is fixed. Is obama wrong, or stupid, or both? Or do we need TRILLIONS more? We don't have it and NEVER will. And, pray tell, what does the 14th Amendment have to do with the debt ceiling issue?? Keep in mind, as you castigate Republicans and the Tea Party, that neither party has actually done ANYTHING for the "good of the country". There's a FACT you should notice. We are in this spot because BOTH parties give a rat's ace about our country. They care about the biggest bribes from the special interests (pharma, defense, lawyers, to name a few) and satisfying the wants and desires of certain voting blocks (the "hispanic" vote and the black voters, to name a couple). It seems (to me) that the Tea Party is making people angry because they have shown some clout and some ability to put a (small) damper on the "lets give everything to everybody who likes us and votes for us, regardless of its effect". The main platform of the Tea Party is "stop spending". It's not racist and it's not radical. And who, exactly, is having a problem with THAT? Riiiiight.....its the ones who are sucking our country dry and not producing ANYTHING. When you run your credit card to 10 times its limit, the solution is NOT to charge more on it. Is it?
