He's a democrat, he is protected with full immunity.
If it was a Republican he would have already been forced out of office and possibly arrested!

BTW - there is no such thing as a "leave of absence" from Cogress. While what he did is stupid, there is no reson he needs to resign. His consituents will determine his political fate, and chances are, as in all these cases, he will keep his job as long as he wants it.
(Now, IF the rumors regarding the 17 year old are proven to be credible, then the games changes.)
dan, you have your democRAT glasses on and can't see the truth. He can probably get a doctor to give him a diagnosis and treatment that would qualify him for FMLA and for a LOA. HE needs to resign. Yes, Republicans have been forced to resign too. This man is a sexual deviant and should be prosecuted, put in jail and register with sex offenders. And really now, I can't imagine anyone wanting one of our lawmakers (and yes his decisons affect all of us) engaging in such immature behaviour. With this stunt he has proven he doesn't have the maturity to make important decisions.
He has proven he is incapable of thinking things though from the beginning to what consequences may occur. A lawmaker needs to have this trait. Weiner's thinking and reasoning are about equal to a 3 year old.
I'm betting he'll be gone before week's end. About 10 new pictures have surfaced of him in the House gym, clothed and unclothed holding on to his you know what.
