It makes me so mad to see people on welfare eating better then the hard working Americans.
They don't work for a living and they eat much better than most of the taxpayers that fund their food stamps! Does that surprise any of you liberals out there? Shouldn't there be more controls on what food stamps are able to purchase? I love lobster but limit it to once a year when we treat outselves on our wedding anniversary.

Sure wish I could afford lobster and steak. But then again - I work for a business that has not given any raises for 2 years because of their struggle to just remain in operation due to the country's struggling economy. Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful that I have a job since I know so many who have lost theirs. But now with the price of gasoline so high, it's practically a family celebration on those rare occasions when I buy chicken breasts instead of legs and thighs. There is just something seriously wrong with the "food stamp" system.
Go to Cheaspeake Treasures and get seafood they are in their eating better then me, O but wait im paying for mine. We are paying for theirs because we work for a living. The system is F__ up...

this has been going on for YEARS. our government does not know how to reign in and control this program for those who REALLY NEED it. shame on the government for allowing this to go on.

They eat better and have insurance that covers 100% of all costs. The really sad part is that we are giving this handout to the illegal's also. I got stuck in line behind a woman that couldn't speak English and couldn't figure out how the card worked. Thanks you bleeding heart liberal jerks.

As long as it's not cooked this is allowed. They also end up selling this stuff for pennies on the dollar to pay for drugs and alcohol.

A receipt from Angeli's was found in the parking lot whereby Angelis allowed $141.78 in mountain dew, 6 lobster tails, and two porter house steaks to be paid with food stamps. Receipt is dated 02/08/11. Store number is 211, Cashier is 115 Barb K, and the food stamp account ends in ...5865. Approval code is 045545.
Tell me this is appropriate? Never shopping there again. As the receipt says--Life is full of choices. I choose to not shop there.

I've been behind a shopper like that at Wal-Mart. Dressed in their finest Sunday Go To Meeting clothes. Gold jewelry from their neck to their ankle. The best cuts of meat, ribs and lobster on the cashiers' check-out. I'm standing behind her with bread, milk and groundbeef. At the end of the ring-up, she hands the cashier an Independance Card (new kind of food stamps). I didn't see, but she probably loaded the food assisted for the needy in an Escalade. While I had to drive home in a 17 year old broken down Chevy truck. Sometimes I want to vomit thinking how much I pay in taxes for these third and fourth generation milkers of the system. They have sixtey years experience milking the system. I would not even know HOW to apply for assistance if I needed it.
It makes me want to puke!
I ran a seafood market, 20 years AGO, we called it Mothers Day when the food stamps would hit. I hated it! Biggest day of the month. This is such a simple thing to fix and our government is not capable of even taking care of this.
Stop complaining. This receipt was from February. There are additional discounts available for use Independence Card holders now.
You gotta admit, it's a sweet deal!
Welfare a new life style.
All of us responsible folks need to say enough is enough. All of us who donate to food pantries, buy presents for underpriviledged children, etc are contributing and enabling this type of behavior. Why should the welfare class feed their children breakfast when the schools do it for free? Why save and buy a child Christmas presents when there are people out there willing to donate new toys? The welfare class always has the best electronics and cell phones on the market. Why is that? It's because they get food for free, rental assistance, free medical care, etc.
Funny how the wet pants liberals will get on here and cry about someone killing a stupid Coyote, but won't respond about waste like this. What about the poor lobsters, don't they deserve to live? bwahh bwaaahhh
You know how to tell the difference between someone that needs food stamps and someone that is milking the system? The embarrassment and shame on the face of those that need it and the free spirited don't give a hoot look on the milkers faces.
I am receiving FS right now and it absolutely sucks. I hate having to bust out that card. I do everything in my power to stretch that money as far as I can, such as only buy sale items, use coupons, buy the discounted (soon out of date) meats. I do work but after being let go from my previous employer the current salary is not enough to make it. I am actively searching for a better paying position that will finally get me back to where I was, but to date haven't obtained one.
I know without a doubt there are tons of people that milk the system but there are those, like me, that hate it and can't wait to be independent again. I can promise no one will ever see me buying lobster and porterhouse steaks.
I don't object to my tax money feeding the hungry, but I surely object to paying for them to eating high on the hog. Public Assistance, that's what Food Stamps, now the Independence Card is called, should be limited to basic food staples, vegtables, cheese, rice, beans, pasta. Ask any vegitarian, people don't have to eat meat, or fish, to have a balanced diet.
I've been in the check out line at the Giant and Super Fresh and seen people buy plenty of high cost foods, like steak and pay for them with the Independence Card plenty of times.
The government switched from food stamps to a plastic card that looks like a credit card, so people on public assistance would not feel embarrassed, or discriminated against because the were paying with food stamps. Translated, that means they can buy luxury foods on the taxpayers' hard earned money.
It ought to be illegal!!!!
8:49, My heart goes out to you. Fortunately I have never had to go on any type of assistance as an adult, but if I did, I am sure I would share the same feelings that you do. You definitely do not strike me as one that would take advantage of the system. I can remember when I was a kid and got "reduced" lunch, how embarassed I was when I payed my money and got my different colored lunch token with the big "reduced" stamped on it.
