Resume
Seaford- The Delaware State Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash involving a Delaware State Trooper last night in Seaford.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:37 p.m. as Alexander Reyes-Galo, 36, of Laurel was traveling eastbound from a crossover, attempting to cross the northbound lanes of US 13.  Reyes-Galo’s vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes of US 13 into the path of the 2006 Ford Crown Victoria, being operated by a Delaware State Trooper assigned to Troop 5, Bridgeville.  The Trooper attempted to take evasive action when he observed the Dodge Intrepid and swerved to the right to avoid the collision.  The front of the Dodge Intrepid struck the driver’s side of the Ford Crown Victoria.  The force of the impact caused the Ford Crown Victoria to rotate clockwise, traveling over a concrete island, flipping over several times, landing on its roof in a grassy area east of the roadway.

Both operators were transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital by ambulance where they were being treated for non life threatening injuries.  Preliminary investigation reveals that both operators were wearing seatbelts.  US 13 northbound was closed for approximately 4.5 hours while the crash was investigated.  The Delaware State Police continue to investigate.
