Al-Qaida Confirms bin Laden's Death

Terror network says America's 'happiness will turn to sadness'

BREAKING NEWS

Al-Qaida on Friday confirmed the killing of Osama bin Laden and warned of retaliation, saying Americans' "happiness will turn to sadness."

The confirmation came in an Internet statement posted on militant websites, signed by "the general leadership" of al-Qaida.

The announcement opens the way for the group to name a successor to bin Laden. His deputy Ayman al-Zawahri is now the most prominent figure in the group and is a very likely contender to take his place.

The statement, dated May 3, was the first by the terror network since bin Laden was killed Monday by U.S. commandos in a raid on his hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

The statement's authenticity could not be independently confirmed, but it was posted on websites where the group traditionally puts out its messages.

"We stress that the blood of the holy warrior sheik, Osama bin Laden, God bless him, is precious to us and to all Muslims and will no go in vain," the statement said. "We will remain, God willing, a curse chasing the Americans and their agents, following them outside and inside their countries."

"Soon, God willing, their happiness will turn to sadness," it said, "their blood will be mingled with their tears."

I wonder how all the conspiracy crowd will spin this? Is Al-Qaida controlled by our "Guberment" and just part of the plot? I have heard many on this blog say that bin Laden was killed years ago, that he was being held prisoner until the Obamocrats needed at bump in the polls. Also, whole thing was a fake, and that 911 was an act of the US government. My guess is that some of these folks are the children of parents who said the landing on the moon was created in a film studio!

Gosh so there is my stimulus money said...

I wonder if our taxes pay for their training at the terrorist training camps

While I'm not part of the "conspiracy crowd" you talk about. I have to wonder just when did al-Qaida become a credible source for anything?

OBL isnt dead. He holds far far too much information to be shot, no matter what. They dont want anyone to know he's alive because it would stop or disrupt the interrogations. The "pictures" cant be shown because there are none...of him dead. Hence the multiple stories and versions from the gov. And if for no other reason......EVERYTHING out of the mouth of obama is a flat out lie.......that, you can bank on!

Well, next we should just stealth our way in and take out Ayman al-Zawahri. If so few people even knew about those stealth helicopters, what do you think we have that we still don't know about.

America had the stealth bombers since 1980, however were never used until the first gulf war in 1991.

I'm not saying anyone has to like Obama, but if you can speak so badly about your own country then your butt belongs in Pakistan. You hate Obama so much you disgrace your country.

6:55 Again. It wouldn't hurt to at least give a little praise to the Navy Seals and every boot on the ground that protects your freedom to hate. Some of you are poor examples of patriots.

Like Archie Bunker used to say, "America, Love it or leave it!"
