It was a wonderful well attended ceremony, highlighted by the young lady singing our National Anthem, Lindsay Jones.

How many of our elected officials are vets? Sheriff? SPD chief? MSP barracks commanders? Sad state of affairs!!! Thank you VETERANS!!! Real men & women of character and courage! We need more in leadership.

anonymous 9:05, are you suggesting our elected officials afren't good enough? Are you saying Mike Lewis isn't doing as good a job as a vet would do?

Come on now, use your head.

Joe, I'm saying we need more veterans in leadership roles and don't have that today. I don't think Mike Lewis is doing a good job, not just because he isn't a vet either. I think Gary Baker is the real sheriff on Naylor Mill and would do a much better job than Mike if he had it, for real. That's my opinion, no more, no less.

anonymous 9:09, Gary Baker is doing exactly what he was hired to do and Mike Lewis is doing more than he was hired to do.

With all due respect, I can't think of another human being that could have pulled off what Sheriff Mike Lewis has pulled off for the men and women of the Sheriff's department.

Again, all due respect, while Gary Baker does a great job, he could not have done what Mike Lewis has done. Just a fact.

Now, as for veterans, start recruiting them. Let me remind you though, a veteran puts his pants on the same way you and I do. The exception to the rule, (especially today) is, can they deal with all of the critics. MSM, Blogs, Citizens, etc..

Being a public servant is one of the most difficult jobs on earth. The way I see it is, veterans have already given more of themselves than anyone else on earth, so why on earth would they want more. While I welcome the thought, I just doubt you'll see them lining up.

Heck, most won't even run for President of the United States and that says a lot right there.
